New Delhi : The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2 p.m. Thursday after members from the Left and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) vociferously demanded a discussion on the price rise.
After the house met following its first adjournment till 12 pm, members from the Left, BSP, Janata Dal-United and Samajwadi Party were on their feet demanding a discussion on price rise. They were also joined by some members of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Deputy Chairman K. Rahman Khan said that notices served by them for a discussion were under consideration but the members did not relent.
Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office V. Narayansamy said that the government was ready for a short duration discussion on price rise and the debate could could start rightaway. He said that the government was ready to discuss all issues.
As the members did not resume their seats and continued to press their demand, Khan adjourned the house till 2 p.m.
