UAE non-oil trade up 5 percent

Abu Dhabi: The UAE’s non-oil foreign trade grew by 5 percent to reach 76.6 billion dirhams in February 2012, compared to 73 billion dirhams in the corresponding period, the official data showed.

The non-oil imports in February 2012 grew by 8 percent to 54.9 billion dirhams, compared to 49.5 billion dirhams in February 2011. Re-exports hit 15 billion dirhams in February.

UAE’s total foreign trade in February reached 7 million tonnes, according to the Federal Customs Agency (FCA).
