Kathmandu : Nepal Election Commission (EC) has said that it is ready for holding the Constituent Assembly (CA) election on April 10.
Reacting to the decision by the government to fix the election date for April 10, an election commissioner said that the EC will now soon hold a meeting to announce election programme and enforce code of conduct.
“The EC will soon determine election schedule and decide to enforce the code of conduct,” Dr. Nilkantha Upreti told Kantipur daily.
Likewise, chief election commissioner Bhojraj Pokharel expressed happiness that the government has fulfilled its request for 90-day window period allowing the EC to smoothly proceed with the poll preparations.
The government fixed the date 93 days before the election day.
The EC officials have, however, urged all the parties and concerned stakeholders to work from their end to make the election a success.
