Islamabad : President Pervez Musharraf has blamed internal and external elements for conspiring to destabilize Pakistan but said the nation has the resilience to defeat all such elements.
“We can surmount all difficulties, but we need to have confidence in ourselves and faith in our abilities and we have to defeat such elements,” Musharraf told weekly interactive programme “Aiwan-e-Sadr Sey” (from the Presidential palace) on the challenges confronting Pakistan and the way forward.
The President was commenting on the lawlessness following the December 27 assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto that caused a loss of over 100 billion Pakistani Rupees to the nation.
“We are a 160 million strong nation that is a nuclear and missile power, with a strong army and a robust economy,” the President said.
