Israeli troops kill ‘Wanted’ Palestinian in West Bank raid

Nablus, West Bank : Israeli troops killed a wanted Palestinian in the West Bank town of Nablus early Friday, Palestinian medics said.

The wanted Palestinian, Ahmad Sanakra, 24, was a commander in the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an armed group tied to the Fatah movement, the Associated Press reported. He had been on Israel’s wanted list for several years but repeatedly eluded capture.

He was shot and killed by troops who surrounded the home where he was hiding out in the Balata refugee camp in Nablus, according to Palestinian medic Anan al-Tira.

The military had no immediate comment.
