Mumbai: In order to take stock of the situation and to help people, a delegation of the Mumbra –Kausa unit of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind (Arshad Madani) visited drought hit Marathwada region, distributed water and provided money to buy water tanks.
Six members of Jamiat Ulama from Mumbra Kausa of Mumbai on Monday visited some districts of Marathwada and handed over money to the leaders of the respective areas to buy water from agencies and distribute among people.
The delegation first visited Usmanabad and under the supervision of Maulana Gulam Mustafa distributed 2 tanks of water to the people and handed over money to buy 25 tanks of water. Thereafter it went to Latur and in the presence of Maulana Israel Rashidi, General secretary of Jamiat unit of Latur distributed 2 tanks of water and handed over money to buy 40 tanks of water. Then the delegation visited Udgir and provided money to the local Jamiat functionary for buying water tanks for people of the town.
Agencies in Marathwada are selling water tank of 5000 liters with Rs. 750 each. Over all the delegation provided money to buy 150 tanks of water in these areas.
The delegation was comprised of Maulana Abdul Wahab Qasmi, President Jamiat unit of Mumbra, Maulana Shafeequr Rahman Nadvi, Hafiz Mujtba, Hafiz Nasir, Muhammad Umar Momin and Hidayat Shaikh.
