Ramallah : Egypt deployed hundreds of members of its security forces along the Sinai border on Tuesday, to control entry of Palestinian emigrants from the Gaza Strip.
That flow increased a week ago when Gaza residents opened holes in the wall with Egypt, and entered into that territory to escape the serious situation caused by the Israeli blockade.
According to media reports, Egyptian authorities already sealed eleven holes, but left two open to allow Egyptians and Palestinians return home.
Gaza residents freely crossed the Sinai border for six days, most of them heading to the coastal locality of Al Arish, where they could buy all they needed until provisions ran out.
After reserves of goods were depleted, the Egyptian security cut the supply of articles towards Al Arish, and ordered to close the businesses.
The effect of those actions and local rains have led to a decrease in the Palestinian migratory flow, allowing forces mobilized by El Cairo to close part of the border.
