Tehran, Feb 17, IRNA , An Iranian cultural official on Sunday proposed boycotting online encyclopedia ‘Wikipedia’ in Iran and other Muslim states for publishing Danish sacrilegious caricatures.
The official said Muslims have voiced strong protest against the sacrilegious move, calling on the website to remove the insulting caricature from its site.
He said the negligence on the part of those running the site towards the issue has caused the blatant insult to the world Muslims.
He urged officials of Iranian and other Muslim states to restrict their citizens’ access to the website and take action against the desecrating, divisive and Islamphobic move.
Wikipedia website servers are in the American state of Florida but it is apparently run from Britain.
