New Delhi : Leander Paes will lead a four-member Indian Davis Cup team in the crucial second round tie against Japan in the Asia-Oceania Zone Group 1 to be played here April 11.
Apart from Paes, the other members of the team are Mahesh Bhupathi, Prakash Amritraj and Rohan Bopanna, the All India Tennis Association (AITA) announced Wednesday.
Somdev Dev Varman, who made his debut against Uzbekistan in February, has been left out. He is reportedly busy with his university examinations in the US, and therefore was not considered for selection.
Japan will be lead by Eiji Takeuchi and will include Kei Nishikori, Go Soeda, Takao Suzuki and Satoshi Wabuchi.
The four-member Indian team is expected to assemble here Saturday, while the Japanese will reach here Sunday.
