Sopore (Baramulla) : Terming the government’s decision to transfer land in Pahalgam to Shree Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) as a conspiracy hatched by the Indian government and its agents working in the state, Chairman of his faction of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Shah Geelani said that the transfer of land a conspiracy to occupy more and more land of Kashmir thereby turning common people of state into a marginalized minority.
While addressing an impressive gathering after Friday prayers in this north Kashmir’s apple town Sopore Geelani lashing out all mainstream political parties including National Conference (NC) and its founder leader Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah.
Geelani said, “It was former chief minister who leased out the land of Kashmir to India which I opposed strongly in assembly but it was his blunder and paying the prices”.
He termed the political parties of J&K as traitors. “All those people associated with national conference should not hope for the Prophet’s mercy on the day of Judgment, because the supporters of National conference are among the munafiqeen (hypocrites)”.
Adding he said that they (pro Indian parties) have deceived and mislead people from time to time and their crimes against humanity can not be forgotten and never forgiven.
Geelani urged people to completely boycott the forthcoming assembly elections and take forward the freedom struggle to its logical end.
“We have also participated in elections till 1987. Our aim was to convince India democratically for fulfilling the promises it has made with regard to Kashmir issue but India never took any steps to address the dominant sentiments of Kashmir and continued to militarize Kashmir with occupational forces and it was the natural corollary of this attitude of India that an armed uprising started in Kashmir,” said Geelani.
“The 1987 elections convinced us that we can’t get our rights democratically and those politicians and people who participate in polls justify the Indian military occupation of Kashmir and give it legitimacy,” added he.
He alleged that India has contemptible plans to degrade Kashmiri society. “In the name of career counseling, Kashmiri youth are being strayed from the path of morality into the darkness of indecency,” he blamed.
Regarding resolution Kashmir Issue, Geelani said that in 2004 an EU delegation visited Kashmir and made important observations that Kashmir is a beautiful prison, concentration of forces is the highest in Kashmir in comparison to other conflict zones and the peaceful solution of Kashmir lies in the implementation of UN resolutions. Before us this is the only durable and practical solution of the Kashmir problem which is accepted to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
