Mumbai : The women’s cricket team will participate in two training camps ahead of their busy international schedule that starts with the England tour in August.

The team will tour England (August), Australia (November) before the World Cup in Australia (March 2009) and the ICC World Twenty20 in England (June 2009).

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials, including secretary Niranjan Shah, Wednesday met Indian captain Mithali Raj, vice-captain Jhulan Goswami, and the selection committee and chalked out plans for the forthcoming season. Former India captains Diana Eduljee and Shanta Rangaswamy were also present

Two camps – one for physical conditioning and the other for practice – on the eve of the England tour will be organised. The venue and dates for the camps will be announced later.

The former cricketers attending the meeting were requested to gather information on developmental activities in their respective zones, and focus on raising playing standards at all levels.

Among other issues discussed were the roles of 31 female candidates who passed the level-1 coaching examination conducted by the National Cricket Academy. Increasing the number of Level-II coaches, physios and trainers was also discussed.
