Baramulla : It was yet another day for common people to suffer on roads for security reason as the traffic on Srinagar- Muzaffarabad National Highway from Kwagabagh to Baramulla was suspended by army because on account of the visit of Defence Minister A K Anthony to North Kashmir’s town of Baramulla.
Hundreds of students, employees of both government and private institutions could not attend their duties on time due traffic restrictions.
“I have to appear in my Term First exams but I could not reach on time as traffic was off from the roads from Kwagabagh to Baramulla and we had to travel five kilometers by foot”, said Altaf Hussain a student of 8th Class.
“They (VVIPs) are every now and then creating problems for a common men with excuse of security reasons but I am labourer I could not get my wages if failed to reach on time,’ Ali Mohmmed Bhat, a labourer told News Agency of Kashmir.
The residents alleged that army did not even bothered about the emergency situation and all the attempts to persuade troopers failed to yield result during the visit.
“We are having a pregnant lady in our Vehicle and are heading towards District Hospital Baramulla but the troopers are not allowing us. This is an emergency case, what kind of security arrangement is this,” shouted Mustaq Ali Khan.
Pertinent to mention here that announcement of the traffic suspension was made by Police Control Room Baramulla through some local cable channels reaching few areas of the township.
“For their so called security we have to suffer for no crime of ours. Isn’t it a sorry state of affairs as government filed to provide any other route for traffic movements,” some of them alleged.
