Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh police arrested two people on Thursday for the possession of 1,100 detonators and a quintal of the widely used commercial explosive ammonium nitrate.
According to the police Jitendra Kumar alias Babloo and Amresh Patel were arrested from the Ahrohra in Mirzapur district, about 300 km from Lucknow.
The police told media that the duo, Jitendra and Amresh are being interrogated.
According to the authorities the possibility of the involvement of the arrested duo with Naxalites can’t be ruled out. UP which has seen caste based polarization of its politics is not known for naxalite activities.
