Over 40 CRPF jawans were killed when a Kashmir youth attacked the bus convoy carrying CRPF personnel. In the aftermath of the Pulwama violence, there has been many incidents of hate and violence directed against Kashmiris and Muslims. In this page we intend to track all incidents of harassment and violence. Following the dastardly attack in which 49 CRPF Jawans were killed in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, communal tensions ran high in Jammu following which a curfew has been imposed and internet services have been stopped in the region.

The students studying at various institutions were witch hunted and the right winged groups sought their ouster from the colleges and stormed universities vandalising the furniture and making abusive comments on the Kashmiri students. A small village with just 40 Muslim families witnessed hate crime when members of RSS entered the mosque on Friday afternoon on 16th February and vandalised the mosque and falsely implicated 6 persons under false charges of sedition alleging that they were raising pro-Pakistan slogans. The bombing of he CRPF troopers seems to have given the Hindutva groups another opportunity to harass, torment the minority this time the Kashmiris. The hindutva groups have formed online groups called ” Clean the nation” with more than 3000 members who are all doxing people on the social media sites; and if they find any post that is in their view ‘anti-national’ they are writing to the employers/ school/college principals and the police to intervene and take action against the person who has posted such a thing.
A Kashmiri youth was booked for allegedly posting derogatory remarks about the India Army based on a complaint filed by the president of VHP at Bangalore. And subsequently his face account was deleted. Read about it here:

Kashmiris staying in other states for studies or business have reported that they have been intimidated by mobs who have asked them leave the city/ vacate the houses. The police has set up helplines and after receiving calls for help have extended a helping hand while is some paces there hoarding saying Kashmiris not allowed. Read about it here:
 The purpose of a curfew is  defeated when people move about in mobs while the police do nothing to stop the mobs. Mobs kept attacking Kashmiri employees of the civil secretariat and other departments in Srinagar who were forced to feel Srinagar. Joining the bandwagon of haters were also people holding positions like the CEO of Portal OpIndia who in his tweet advised the gaurakshas to go on a lynching spree instead of the random lynchings they were indulging in. Even Kashmiris residing in different states from decades have not been spared by the hatemongers. A Kashmiri doctor residing in Kolkata from 22 years was asked to leave and ‘go back to Pakistan’. But timely intervention from the government saved him. Read his account here:
As about 7 students of Mallapuram Government college in kerala were slapped with charges of sedition after their college principal complained to the police. All that the students had done was condemn the attacks on Kashmiri students by the Sangh Pariwar.
