New Delhi : Shah Waliullah Institute (SWI), in collaboration with National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language and Delhi Urdu Academy, is organising a seminar on "The Impact of Waliullah Movement on First War of Independence 1857" at India Islamic Cultural Centre here Saturday.
Chaired by President All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) Maulana Syed Muhammad Rabey Hasani Nadwi, this day-long programme will be inaugurated by AIMPLB Vice-President Maulana Muhammad Salim Qasmi. While Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit, Governor of Haryana Akhlaqur Rahman Qidwai and Union Minister for Minority Affairs A.R. Antulay will grace the occasion as Chief Guests.

JNU Professor Abdul Wadood Azhar Dehlavi, former Head Department of Political Science Professor Zafar Ahmad Nizami and others will present papers on the subject.
Prominent among those who are expected to attend the seminar are General Secretary AIMPLB Maulana Syed Nizamuddin, Shaikhul Hadith Darul Uloom (Waqf) Deoband Maulana Syed Anzar Shah Masoodi Kashmiri, Mufit-e-Azam Panjab Maulana Mufti Fuzailur Rahman Hilal Usmani, former Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Dr. Abdul Haq Ansari, Nazim Imarat Shairah Phulwari Sharif Maulana Aneesur Rahman Qasmi, Editor Milli Gazette Dr. Zafarul Islam Khan and a host of others.
The first Shah Waliullah Award instituted by SWI will be conferred posthumously on former Treasurer AIMPLB Late Maulana Abdul Kareem Parekh. Chairman of Nagpur based Padam Shree Maulana Abdul Kareem Parekh Trust Abdul Majeed Parekh will receive the award.
A book in Urdu, Hindustan ki Pahli Jang-e-Azadi 1857 mien Musalmanon ka Hissa (The Role of Muslims in India’s First War of Independence 1857) by Maulana Ataur Rahman Qasmi will be released.
