Jammu & Kashmir : Bharti Airtel, India’s leading mobile service provider is the officiating telecom partner for the prestigious annual “Raid de Himalaya” rally. Apart from providing all the telecommunication support during the entire length of rally, Airtel has also instituted “Fastest Stage Trophy” for the two-wheeler X-treme category and will also honour 35 outstanding rallyists with trophies.
‘Raid de Himalaya’, which is considered to be one of the toughest known motor rally with its over 140 rallyists, was flagged off from Shimla on October 2 and after passing through Manali, Kaza, Keylong and Leh, is scheduled to culminate in Srinagar on October 8 after covering a distance of 2400 kms of rugged terrain. The final prize distribution ceremony would be held in Srinagar on Oct 8th, 2007.
Commenting on Airtel’s association with ‘Raid de Himalaya’, Mr. Sayed Safawi, Executive Director (North), Bharti Airtel Limited, said “Airtel has always been a frontrunner in promoting various forms of sports.
