The initiative is supported by Brazilian soccer star Kaka, who plays for the Italian Milan team and is WFP ambassador against hunger.

Kaka emphasized that he has seen how hunger could destroy the future of a child in his country, and called on soccer fans to contribute to this cause.

UN WFP Director Josette Sheeran recalled that one child dies of hunger in the world every six seconds.

According to WFP estimates, at least $3 billion a year are necessary to feed 59 million children in the world.
