Gaza : The Israeli Army announced Friday that it recently commenced employing a new system to find tunnels Palestinians digged to smuggle weapons into Gaza Strip.
Israeli Army spokesman told Israel Radio that the new system consisted of sensors that work in underground channels that were filled with water.
The new system is being tested in western Negev area near the eastern parts of Gaza Strip and were hidden so that they could not be detected by the Palestinians, he said.
The spokesman did not say if the new system would be used on the borders between Gaza and Egypt.
Meanwhile, local media in the Gaza Strip said Saturday that Israeli warplanes bombarded northern areas in the city.
The media quoted eyewitnesses as saying that a missile was launched from one of the raiding warplanes at a location for Palestinian activists in Beit Hanoun, causing several injuries among their ranks.
Ambulances rushed to the scene to rescue the injured, transferring them to nearby hospitals for treatment.
