Tehran : Rallies marking the 29th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran started in Tehran and various parts of the country on Monday morning.
In Tehran, people began marches in seven different directions from different parts of the metropolis city.
The people will gather at Azadi Square, the venue for bolstering national solidarity and reminiscent of major demonstrations which toppled the US-backed regime of Shah.
Iranians have got used to gathering at the same place to stage support for the Islamic Republic in the face of a variety of conspiracies of the United States.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is to address the ralliers at Azadi Square.
Meanwhile, an official in charge of authorizing foreign reporters at the Ministry of Culture and the Islamic Guidance said that the department issued 250 press cards for foreign reporters to cover the magnificent event.
They are preparing reports and taking photos of the rallies which mark the 29th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
A group of reporters cover the event from a helicopters flying over the ralliers in Tehran.
The people are gathering at Azadi Square to renew their allegiance to the ideals of the Islamic Revolution and the Founder of the Islamic Republic, the late Imam Khomeini.
