China Rejects US President Accusations

Beijing : China rejected resent accusations by US President George W. Bush on alleged lack of religious freedom in its territory.

Bush made Monday an address marking the 10th anniversary of the Law on International Religious Freedom.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Liu Jianchao called the US take a fair and objective look at China’s religious situation, that has laws and its government protects freedom of belief and its citizens enjoy protection of laws.

Jianchao also called the US to quit its prejudice and stop meddling in China’s affairs under the pretext of relevant matters.

What really counts is that all citizens are equal under the eyes of the law and freedom of speech or action neither violate the law, threaten state security nor social stability.
