By Xinhua,
Islamabad : At least 2 security men were killed and five others were injured in a roadside bomb blast Sunday in restive Swat valley in northwest Pakistan, the army said.
Army spokesman Major General Athar Abbas said that the security men were on a routine patrolling when the roadside bomb exploded near a small village.
No group claimed responsibility of the attack but suspected militants are blamed for such attacks.
The army spokesman said that the bomb exploded through a remote control. The injured security men were taken to hospital at Mingora, a major city in the Swat valley.
The security imposed curfew in the area after the attack and the forces started search for suspects.
In another incident, three people were killed in firing in the same region, police said. Motives behind the incident were not clear but the incident created panic among the people.
Violent incidents continued in the Swat valley despite a peace deal between the militants and the government in May.
