Russia Drafts SC Agenda for March

By Prensa Latina

Moscow : Russia, as acting chairman of the UN Security Council, issued its agenda that comprehends the situation in Kosovo, the Middle East, Afghanistan and anti-terror drive.

Russian Ambassador to the UN Vitali Churkin said those are among the top priorities on the agenda for its 30-day leadership beginning March 2.

All the members will vote Monday a controversial resolution to tighten the sanctions against Iran but the controversial issue has just passed a late February failed vote under pressures from the US and some western allies.

Churkin said at a teleconference between Moscow and New York that Russia also promotes a debate in March on the political situation in Lebanon, the humanitarian crisis in Palestine and the recent Israeli attacks on Gaza.
