Amman : Jordanian Prime Minister Nader Al-Dahabi highlighted on Saturday the challenges facing his country from the Iraqis refugees.

The Prime Minister said during a meeting with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Gutteres that Jordan, under the directives of Jordan King Abdullah II, was hosting Iraqis on humanitarian grounds and has been providing them with distinguished services over the past few years.

“Iraqis in Jordan are our guests and brothers in their second country and will be treated with full respect until they return to their country after their ordeal is over,” Al-Dahabi added.

The premier highlighted the burden Jordan is shouldering as a result of hosting thousands of Iraqis in the Kingdom, pointing to the positive cooperation and coordination between Jordan and the UNHCR in this regard.

Al-Dahabi also pointed to the important role played by the UNHCR in highlighting burden shouldered by Jordan due to hosting the Iraqis in the Kingdom.

For his part, the UN commissioner hailed efforts exerted by Jordan in providing services to the Iraqis in the health and educational fields.

Gutteres said the UN commission was grateful to Jordan’s cooperation and the policy it adopts towards the Iraqis in the Kingdom.
