We are still deciding on the leadership, says KKR director Buchanan

“We are still deciding on the leadership issue,” the Aussie told a stunned gathering of newspersons on the sidelines of a programme here.

Buchanan’s out-of-the-blue comments followed a poser from a journalist at the fag end of the function where a tie-up between the KKR and mobile phone manufacturer Nokia was announced.

The former Aussie coach’s remarks came a day after star English batsman Kevin Pietersen replaced Rahul Dravid as skipper of another IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore, who had performed poorly in IPL last year.

Earlier, former Aussie wicket keeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist took over as captain of Deccan Chargers in place of V.V.S. Laxman.

Ganguly has a three-year contract with the KKR which ends next year.

However, sources close to Ganguly and the KKR team management claimed there was no uncertainty over the left hander leading the side in the coming edition.

The KKR Sunday announced that it has roped in four youngsters – Sourav Sarkar, Arindam Ghosh, Shoaib Sheikh and Sunny Singh – for the coming season.
