Shia Majlis-e-Ulama to organise two day conference to discuss socio-economic upliftment of community

Lucknow: Shia Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Hind is organising a two-day conference to discuss socio-cultural, educational and economic conditions of the community. The programme is scheduled to be held at Shah Najaf, Lucknow on October 17 and 18.

Majlis had last organised a similar programme in 2007 at Imam-e-Ghufranmaab in the city.

Scholars and participants from across the country will meet to present their views and prepare a roadmap for progress and development of the community.

On the afternoon of October 18, a joint conference will be held with the Barelvi body All India Ulema and Mashaikh Board, in which Barelvi Ulemas will also be present. The aim is to jointly discuss the issues concerning the Muslim community and try to formulate concrete solutions.

Maulana Ali Taqvi of Delhi is the president of the Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Hind and Maulana Kalbe Jawad Naqvi is the Gen. Secretary of the organization.
