Islamabad : The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has helped in establishing three mobile hospitals in Pakistan’s Sindh province with a view to providing healthcare to thousands of underprivileged living in the remote areas.

The initiative for the mobile clinics has been taken by UAE Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Hamdan bin Al Nahyan.

“A 50-member medical team has been formed in cooperation with the Pakistani government to provide health facility to more than 4,000 poor patients in various parts of Sindh region,” WAM news agency quoted director of Sheikh Hamdan’s office in Pakistan Bakheet Ateq Al Rumaithi as saying.

“Some villagers in the region are suffering from various chronic diseases and they are in desperate need of immediate treatment,” he noted.

The mobile clinics will attend to the medical needs of the afflicted in the far-flung areas where inhospitable terrains made it difficult for convoys of humanitarian and medical assistance to reach.

“Under instructions of Sheikh Hamdan, an agreement has been reached with the Pakistani government to establish more field hospitals and run more medical convoys next year to reach out to needy patients,” the official added.
