New Delhi : Sri Lanka´s Foreign affairs Minister Rohitha Bogollagama told the The Times of India daily on Tuesday that Colombo-New Delhi relations are at a good moment.
The minister also said that the defense agreement between the two nations to avoid the moving of weapons by the Liberation Tigers of Eelam Tamil (LTET) is successfully working.
That deal was signed to establish vigilance and interception mechanisms in the Palk Strait and the seas surrounding Sri Lanka.
According to Bogollagama, Sri Lanka-India relations are at a good economic and political stage.
Regarding LTET, the minister said that even when that group is able to find weapons, the government has contained and restricted their violent actions.
Bogollagama upheld that the Sri Lankan government is determined to solve the ethnic problem politically, as it is shown in the recent elections held in East Province, after being liberated from the insurgency´s control last year.
