Islamic dressing: Kerala HC directs Education Minister to take action

Kochi: The Kerala High Court directed the Education Minister to take action on the petition asking permission for Islamic dressing, according to reports. The plea was submitted by a girl in Malappuram asking permission to wear Islamic dressing in a professional college. The girl had filed a complaint with the Educational Minister also

Muslim girls coming from school in Darbhanga

The girl passed the engineering entrance exam and got admission in the Muslim reservation quota in a college in Palakkad. The college authorities reportedly informed her that her Islamic dressing was not allowed in the college as it was against the college uniform norms. The girl then reportedly submitted a plea asking permission to change from the professional college which did not allow Islamic dressing to another college.

Muslim girls had approached the High Court on the issue. The mainstream political parties however sided with and spoke for the individual and religious rights of Muslim girls in the matter.
