Protestors demand India should cut off ties with Israel

Mumbai: “India should cut off all its relations, diplomatic or otherwise, with Israel and a case must be registered against it in the International court of justice,” said Aslam Gazi, Spokeperson, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, during a Protest near Churchgate Railway station in South Mumbai on Thursday. The protest was jointly organized by CPI-ML, Bharat Bacho Andolan, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and SIO.
The protest was against recent Israeli attack on one of the aid ships sailing with tons of food and medicines for the besieged citizens of Gaza. Israel Killed 19 unarmed and innocent aid workers in the attack. Along with European parliamentarian and Nobel Laureate, peace activists from all over the world were travelling with the Free Gaza flotilla.
Elders and children were holding banners and were shouting slogans to boycott Israel and free Gaza. Kishore Jagtap of Bharat Bachao Andolan had issued a press release and demanded that the world should boycott Israel which is guilty of killing unarmed women, children and farmers. "Israeli hegemony must stop here and now," he said in the statement.
The protesters claimed that they are also planning to intensify this remonstration and are planning to hold public meetings all over Mumbai. “We are going to lodge our protest with the Israeli Consulate in Mumbai and will be holding public awareness meeting about the issue” Sanjay Sanghvi, member Central Committee CPI(ML) added.
K.K. Suhail, all India President of Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO), also condemned the violence and urged the international community to pressurise Israel to stop all its “inhuman Practices which are barbaric and brutal.” He also appealed to the world leaders to take active part in rebuilding war affected Gaza.
Mumbai protest is a part of a series of protests happening all over the world against the brutal Israeli act. Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind in a statement urged its members to protest against Israel, all over India on Friday.

To MEND our SHATTERED IMAGE in INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY
I wrote earlier on 4 June 2010 - 6:07am. Kindly take time, and read my comment(s).
We, as India, have deliberately or unknowingly, cleverly or foolishly, MALIGNED our IMAGE in-front of INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY.
In order to MEND our MALIGNED / SHATTERED IMAGE in front of INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY, we need to bite the "silver bullet", and "cut-off" ties with Israel. If U.S.A. supports that country BLINDLY, it is not NECESSARY we say YES-SIR - and we need to continue our policies, what we did during YASIR's tenure !!!
This decision is EVEN MORE IMPORTANT, as we are LOSING MORE than we are GAINING from our "shoddy" association with that country - due to their historical policies, decision(s), which are in GROSS DISREGARD to international community expectation(s).
In my view, any examples of GCC countries, U.S.A. or other countries, are to be DRAINED down the GUTTER for our OWN GOOD.
Due to UNWISE policies of the only remaining Stupor-Power, country-heads, whose countries need to be looked with a MICROSCOPE to find their location on GLOBAL MAP, are SPITTING at Stupor-Power's POLICIES / DECISION(s).
Becoming a SUPER-POWER or REGIONAL-POWER is NOT IMPORTANT, but MAINTAINING a RESPECTABLE IMAGE in INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY should be our PRIME CONCERN.

I donot understand the logic of this forum. Gcc countries are keeping their relationship with usa or with isreal directly. Why must india disconnect its relationship. It requiers the tricks of the trade to handle the terrorism in theborder and through the neighbouring countries.

Get your facts right about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. If you are so concerned about Israeli women and children, invite them to stay in your country rather than occupying someone else's lands.
