Lucknow Muslims setup water stall on Hanuman’s Bada Mangal

Lucknow: Living upto the ganga jamuni tehzeeb in the city of nawabs, the Hussain Day Celebration and Welfare Society organised a bhandara and drinking water stall outside Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) office on Tuesday. The stall was organised to celebrate the second Tuesday of the Jyestha month as per Vikram Samvat calendar.

The stall was inagurated by eminent shia cleric Maulana Yasoob Abbas and Maulana Ainul Haque in presence of Additional Municipal Commisioner (AMC) Pratap Singh Bhadauria and other officials.

Speaking on the occasion, general secretary of the association Syed Qaiser Raza stated that Lucknow has a history of hindu-muslim brotherhood and our step is a small effort for maintaning the communal harmony. President of the society, Ananad Verma also was instrumental in organising the stall along with other volunteers of the society.

Shia cleric Maulana Yasoob Abbas who also is the spokesperson for All India Shia Personal Law Board (AISPLB) appreciated the efforts of the society for maintaining the chord of communal harmony in Lucknow. “The role played by the members of the society in organising such stall will help in strengthening hindu muslim unity”, he said.

Later Raza stated that such efforts were done in the past also. As per him Lucknow still has Hanuman Mandir which was built by Janabe Aliya, the mother of Nawab Saadat Ali Khan in Aliganj. The temple’s dome still has a moon depicting ‘dooj ka chand’. “Even Nawab Wajid Ali Shah organised lavish bhandaras and monkeys too were offered grams by the royal begums” he claimed.
