Mountain View, California: The Aligarh Education Endowment Fund (AEEF) scholarship program has selected 50 students for financial assistance. The recipients for the AEEF scholarships were chosen after a selection process that drew applicants from many schools, colleges and universities all across India.
“Support for exceptional students, particularly those with financial need and a drive to succeed, can have a profoundly positive effect on society,” said Mr. Umar Farooq, president of AEEF. “These students have overcome tremendous obstacles, and we are proud to help them continue their education and prepare them to make valuable contributions to the society they live in,” he added.
Distributing the AEEF Scholarship Checks to the students of MJ Girls Inter Collage, Mehboob Ganj, Faizabad
Students attending any accredited school/college or university in the India were eligible. The selection criteria included academic achievement, financial need, and an interview by AEEF facilitator.
Through the scholarships, the organization aims to help bright and motivated students, overcome one of the biggest challenges to their careers – the cost of education.

The recipients are pursuing secondary to professional courses in a range of fields, including medicine, engineering, business, law, as well as other specialties in the natural sciences and social sciences.
Scholarship program started in 2010 to help young people of exceptional promise reach their full potential through education.

The Aligarh Education Endowment Fund (AEEF) is a charitable organization founded by AMU alumni and well-wishers in 2005 as a non-profit, secular, non-partisan, and non-political organization, under Section 501(c) (3) of IRS, to serve the educational needs of the underprivileged communities in India.
The scholarship program is generously supported by alumni of Aligarh Muslim University and their friends and private foundations. Donations to AEEF are tax deductible in USA as allowable under the law. (Tax ID # 20-1000034)
