Independent panel to examine Lalit Kala Akademi affairs

New Delhi : The ministry of culture has set up an independent committee to look into various matters pertaining to the Lalit Kala Akademi’s constitution, including an amendment to it, Union Minister of Culture Kumari Selja told the Lok Sabha Tuesday.

In response to a recommendation of a committee appointed by the Akadmi earlier, the ministry had suggested that the Akademi amend its constitution to make it more transparent, simple and effective.

The committee appointed by the ministry of culture includes Krishen Khanna, K.R. Prasad, L.R. Khatana, Ghulam Mohammed Sheikh, Rakhee Sarcar, Parul Dave Mukherjee, Om Prakash Jain, Kalyan Chakraborty, Sadanand Goswami, B.N. Goswami, Ashit Paul and D. Ravi.
