Urdu graduates demand Urdu teachers job in UP

Lucknow: Demanding government jobs as Urdu teachers the members of Moallim Urdu Development Organisation (MUDO) staged a dharna at Jhulelal Park on Monday. The protestors demanded job and equation of their degree at par with Urdu BTC. The protestors also gave a deadline of May 30 for fulfilling their demands failing which they will intensify their agitation.

Addressing the protestors, state president, MUDO, Irshad Ahmed alleged that the present state regime has failed to address the grievances of the trained Urdu candidates. He claimed that in a step motherly treatment, the Urdu knowing candidates were flogged by police when they raised their voice for appointment as government Urdu teachers in primary schools. “The past four years have been very bad for the Urdu knowing candidates. They have been denied their right for government jobs. The state government too harassed them and ill-treated them,” he said.

Ahmed also stated that the state government should include three language formula in all government educational institutions. “It should be made mandatory for all government institutions to impart teaching in Hindi, English and Urdu. Efforts should be made for the upliftment of Urdu language,” he said.
