Sincerely implement Sachar Report: Mashaikh Conference of Bareilly

Bareilly: All India Ulema & Mashaikh Board has demanded the central government to seriously and sincerely implement the Sachar Committee recommendations. The large group of Sunni Sufi Muslims, at its Bareilly conference on 26th November 2011 also demanded Muslim reservation in the light of the Ranganath Mishra Commission Report.

At the end of the conference organized at Islamia Inter College in Bareilly, the board adopted a resolution concerning various issues of the Muslim community and sent it in the form of memorandum to President of India and other authorities.

Besides Sachar and Muslim quota, the conference gave stress on the education of the community.

“The Government should allocate land for educational purpose to Muslim educational societies on a very subsidized rate /free of cost for establishing quality educational Institutions. Scholarships/stipends should be made available from sixth standard onward to all the Muslim students of non creamy layer group. Muslims Residential Schools and Intermediate Colleges with high quality teachers and infrastructure should be` established. There should be at least one Girl’s school/college in every Tehseel/Sub-division and not less than three in each Muslim concentrated District,” reads the memorandum. Mashaekh Board also supported Central Madarsa Board Bill.
Besides, they demanded Universities in the name of Allama Fazle Haq Khairabadi and Aala Hazrat ,Imam Ahmed Raza Khan at their native places i.e. Sitapur & Bareilly respectively.

The conference demanded special laws “to develop, protect and run the Dargahs as per the Sunni Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat (Sunni Sufi Community) faith.” The group also wants establishment of Sufi Circuit for the development of Khanqahs & Dargahs.



Moreover, the mashaekh board demanded the government to consider as the representative body of 80% of the Sunni Sufi community of India and it should be entrusted with the job of obtaining opinion of the Muslim community on all Muslim issues.

The board wants National holiday on the 6th of Rajab which is the date of Urs of Khawaja Gharib Nawaz, Ajmer Sharif.

The daylong conference was presided by Syed Muhammad Ashraf Mian Kichchowi, General Secretary of All India Ulema & Mashaikh Board.
