New Delhi : As many as 397 developmental projects seeking environmental clearance are pending with the environment ministry, parliament was told Tuesday.
In a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Environment Minister Jayanthi Natarajan said that the projects are pending for varying durations mainly due to non-submission of complete information by the project proponents.
The highest number of pending projects are related to building and construction (209), followed by mining (143), thermal (32) and hydro power (13) projects, she said.
