Senior Muslim cleric demands action against police for arresting madarsa students

Patna: Senior Muslim cleric Maulana Nizamuddin has demanded from Bihar government to take action against the police officers, who arrested madarsa students on September 21 at Begusarai railway station, alleging terror links. Its only after several Muslim organizations interfered that the students were released, on the condition to return to their homes.

“I strongly condemned the incident and demand the Bihar government to take action against the officials who were involved.” said Maulana Nizamuddin who is also general secretary of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB).

If on the one hand, thousands of Muslim children from poor background, go to other states to get Islamic education every year, it has also been found that child traffickers, some times use the grab of “children going for madarsa education” to supply cheap child labor outside Bihar.
