Shimla : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will have no truck with rebels who have floated a new political outfit in Himachal Pradesh, BJP general secretary J.P. Nadda said Tuesday.
Giving a clean chit to the BJP government of Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal over charges of “rampant corruption” levelled by the dissidents, he said “all is well in the government”.
He and Shyam Jaju, co-in charge of the state’s party affairs, were deputed by the party to study the reasons for dissent in the party.
Nadda said: “There is no proof of corruption or land deals by government functionaries.”
The Himachal Lokhit Party (HLP) was formed by BJP rebels last week under the leadership of four-time former MP Maheshwar Singh.
Perturbed over the exodus of party leaders to the HLP, the BJP central leadership went into damage-control mode and asked Nadda and Jaju to look into the development.
