Quoting doctor’s mother Fathima Khan in Bangalore, the site says the Saudi Arabian authorities picked up Usman from Riyadh, at 2 pm on Monday without disclosing the reason for his detention. Fathima is a widow who lost her husband 15 years ago. Usman 36, hails from Dharwad district of Karnataka.

On May 13 this year, Fasih Mahmood, an engineer from Darbhanga in Bihar, was picked from his home in Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia in the presence of his wife Nikhat Perween. The Indian government and police agencies initially feigned ignorance about Fasih or his arrest. They admitted his detention only after one and half months of court case following habeas corpus filed by Perween in Supreme Court. Fasih is still in Saudi custody.
