Jamiat condemns death of Khalid Mujahid

By TCN News,

New Delhi: Jamiat Ulama-i- Hind (JUeH), the largest Muslim organization has strongly condemned the mysterious death of terror accused Khalid Mujahid.

In a press statement, JUH general secretary Maulana Mahmood Madani while expressing shock warned the centre and state governments that such nefarious conspiracies against innocent Muslims will not be tolerated at all.

Being Skeptical about the police version of story, Maulana Madani sought thorough enquiry into the death and asked the UP government to immediately table Nimesh Commission Report in the Assembly with action take report and ensure release and safety of the co- accused Tariq Qasmi. “Taking a lesson from this horrified incident the government should release the Nimesh Commission Report in which the duo has been exonerated,” asserted JUH general secretary.

Terming the state government’s move to book 42 persons including a retired top UP police officer and a senior serving cop for alleged conspiracy in 2007 in connection with the death of serial blasts accused Khalid Mujahid under sections 120 B and 302 of the IPC, a right step but insufficient, Maulana Mahmood Madani demanded that the circle police officer Snajeev Tayagi and 8 other policemen who were escorting the accused to Lucknow be arrested and interrogated severely. He also demanded the governed forthwith announce adequate compensation to Khalid’s family.

Maulana Madani said that the death of Khalid under such circumstances raises serious questions on existing police system and loophole in investigative agencies. We are firm that this incident would have been averted If UP government had acted on time on the recommendations of Nimesh Commission report.

He further said it is beyond reasoning that a report which is clearly exonerating Khalid Mujahid and Tariq Qasmi with recommending action against named police officers who framed and fabricated evidence to implicate them is not yet submitted into the assembly.

He feared that such conspiracy can be extended to other detained whom they police agencies find to be key witness to their mischievous intentions. Giving instances of Qateel Siddiqi, Faiz Usmani and Javed He demanded provision of proper security for all the terror- accused in the custody so that further incident could be prevented.
