Three teenagers gunned down in Ranchi

Ranchi: Suspected Maoist guerrillas shot dead three teenagers on the outskirts of Ranchi, police said Saturday.

According to police, the guerrillas killed the three aged between 15 and 17 at Masu village, situated on outskirts of Ranchi, Friday night.

Police was informed Saturday morning. When police personnel reached the village Saturday, they faced the villagers’ ire.

The villagers did not allow the police to take the bodies for postmortem examination.

The angry villagers also blocked the Ranchi-Lohardagga highway to protest the killing.

The villagers say that Maoist openly move in the village and police take no action against them. The villagers are demanding police picket for a long time.

Maoist guerillas are active in 18 of the 24 districts of the state.
