Addressing the valedictory function of a “Global Meet” organised by the Overseas Cell of the Bharatiya Janata Party here, Advani said if there was a delay in projecting Harsh Vardhan as chief ministerial candidate, then AAP would have won the poll.

Though BJP emerged as the single largest party in Delhi assembly polls with 31 seats, AAP – which bagged 28 seats – formed the government with the outside support of Congress’s eight legislators.

“If Harsh Vardhan had been projected earlier, he would been the chief minister today. If there was a delay (in projecting him), the AAP would have won,” he said.

He said the party will be the single largest party in the Lok Sabha elections and there was enthusiasm for its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in the country.
