AMU alumnus gets prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship

Aligarh: Mohammad Meraj Alam, an alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University got selected in prestigious Marie-Curie Scientific Research Fellowship awarded by European Union to do his PhD in the field of Multi-terminal DC Grid for Offshore Wind at University of Porto, Portugal.

This European Union project is named as MEDOW, which is a Marie Curie Initial Training Network consisting of 5 elite universities of Europe and six industrial organization funded from the seventh framework programme. The project aims at establishing a multi-terminal DC Grid for connecting offshore wind farms to form a supergrid. This project is coordinated by Cardiff University, UK.

Mohammad Meraj Alam did his Senior Secondary School in 2004 and B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering in 2009. He completed his M. Tech. in Power Systems from IIT, Delhi. During his studies at IIT, he spent some time in INP Grenoble, France under Erasmus Mundus Exchange Scholarship.
