Coming down heavily against the “religious fanaticism, which is rampant across the country,” he said the Hindutwa brigade is trying to form a state with monoculture. “By mis-defining the secularism as minority appeasement, the Sangh fold is misleading the majority to the culture and politics of hatred,” the Congress leader said while delivering the inaugural address at the seminar on ‘Cultural Nationalism’, organised by the Muslim Educational Society (MES) state committee as part of its golden jubilee celebrations here on Friday.

“There are several eye opening facts exposed through Sachar Commission reports. The majority in the country is obliged to take the minority in confidence by giving them due opportunities and representation,” he added.

“The present political scenario in the country testifies the words of the first Prime Minister of the country Jawaharlal Nehru, who said that the majority communalism is more dangerous than the minority communalism,” he pointed out.

Terming the Batla House encounter as fake, Singh said there are such several instances, where the Muslim youth are haunted by police and the government across the country.

Citing that the Modi government failed to keep its word, he said instead of development, the country is witnessing the implementation of hidden agenda of the Sangh Parivar.

MES state president Dr Fasal Gafoor presided over the programme.
