The march call was given by AMU Students’ Front, even as the office bearers of AMU Students Union stayed away from the protest. The march began after Namaz-e-Juma from university mosque and passed through university before culminating at Bab-e-Syed. A small meeting was also held before dispersing.

Students carried banners and placards opposing the ban on Naik. They claimed that Muslim intellectuals are being singled out by the government and action is taken against them. They also denounced several media outlets for projecting wrong pictures of Muslims. University proctorial team was also present during the march. The students demanded that ban on Naik should be lifted and government should stop its action of witch hunting.
