Haj is one of the five tenets of Islam. It’s every muslim’s desire to perform Haj at least once in his life time. Performing Haj is obligatory to every sane, financially able and adult muslim.
About 1.64 lakh Indians would be undertaking Haj this year out of which 1.15 lakh would be going through the Haj Committee of India and rest through private operators during the one-month period.
The Haj operations is being carried out from 19 embarkation points as against 17 last year.
The pilgrims would travel on Air India, Saudi Arabian Airlines and National Air Services of Saudi Arabia.The Ministry of Civil Aviation is entrusted with the responsibility of providing air travel facility to Haj pilgrims sponsored by Haj Committee of India.
