Cairo : A plane carrying multi-national observers crashed in Egypt's Sinai Peninsular Sunday, killing three on board, pan-Arab satellite TV al-Jazeera reported.
Shortly after the report, a UN official also confirmed the crash.
The crashed plane belonged to the multinational peacekeeping forces, said Maher Nasser, director of United Nations Information Centre in Cairo, stressing that it was not a UN plane.
The peacekeeping force is stationed in Sinai with a task of monitoring the border between Egypt and Israel in the peninsular after a 1979 peace deal.
