The BJD had issued a whip Sunday, asking all its MPs to vote against the Congress-led UPA government during trust vote.

Swain, who represents Aska constituency, had differences with party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

He supported the UPA government to express his anger against Patnaik, his supporters said.

“Proceedings will be started to disqualify him from Lok Sabha membership,” Patnaik told reporters, adding that Swain has also been expelled from the party.
