Taliban executes four abducted Afghan judges

Kabul : Taliban militants Wednesday said they have executed four abducted judicial officers in Afghanistan's central Ghazni province.

The judges were killed Tuesday evening, Taliban spokesman Mullah Tariq told Xinhua from an undisclosed place.

A police officer in Andar district said the bodies of four judges were discovered at 6 a.m. Wednesday.

An official at the press department of the interior ministry said the Taliban had abducted the officials from Sultan Bagh area of Ghazni district some 10 days ago.

The incident occurred in the same province where Taliban insurgents abducted 23 South Koreans July 19. Two male hostages have been killed. Efforts to secure the release of the other Koreans are on.
