Trinamool workers injured after clash with CPI-M

Kolkata, Aug 2 (IANS) At least 15 Trinamool Congress workers were injured after Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) activists allegedly attacked them here Thursday night over preparation of voters’ list.

The area falls under the assembly constituency of West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya.

While the police said they had not received any medical confirmation of the injuries, Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee said her supporters were “mercilessly beaten up” at Patuli in the southern fringe of the city.

The CPI-M said in turn that the Trinamool men were involved in illegal sale of government housing in the area, leading to the clash.
