Islamic Fiqh Academy elects new office bearers

New Delhi : Recently, 2-day sessions of the executive body and trustees of Islamic Fiqh Academy India were held at Academy’s offices in New Delhi that were presided by Darul Uloom Deoband’s senior Mufti, Maulana Mufti Mohammad Zufairuddin. According to Academy’s press release, a number of distinguished Ulema participated in these sessions including Syed Nizamuddin, general secretary, All India Muslim Personal Board, and Mufti Ashraf Ali, Karnataka’s Ameer-e-Shari’at.

Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, who has been elected as general secretary for 2007-2012, presented Academy’s quintennial progress report that says the Academy organized 10 seminars and workshops and published 36 books in Arabic, Urdu, English, Hindi and Malyalam besides completing the translation of 45 volumes of Fiqhi Encyclopedia published from Kuwait during this period. Mufti Mohammad Zufairuddin has been re-elected Academy’s president and Maulana Burhanuddin Sambhali (Lucknow), Mufti Ashraf Ali (Bangalore), Maulana Badrul Hasan Qasimi (Kuwait) and Maulana Abdul Ahad al-Azhari will be its vice-president in the next term.
